Colleges – North, Central & South

All three colleges offer programs in college transfer, professional-technical training, adult basic education, continuing education and distance learning. Once enrolled, students can take any of the over 1,900 courses and 135 academic and workforce education programs offered at the Seattle Community Colleges.

North Seattle Community College, located in the Northgate area of Seattle, is known for the breadth of its educational choices, the support it provides its students, and the excellence of its instruction – on campus or online. Professional-technical programs offered include business, information technology, electronics, real estate and many health-related occupations.

Seattle Central Community College, located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, is known for its ethnically and culturally diverse student body, innovative student services and coordinated studies curriculum for college transfers. Professional-technical programs offered include apparel design, ASL interpreter training, biotechnology, culinary arts, wood construction, maritime, and many health-related occupations.

South Seattle Community College, located in a residential West Seattle neighborhood, offers many unique college transfer and workforce programs and is distinguished by the breadth of partnerships that support programs such as aviation, culinary arts, health care, horticulture, the construction trades and winemaking. South also is known for its lively multicultural and multi-ethnic student body.

Seattle Vocational Institute

The Seattle Vocational Institute, a division of Seattle Central, provides short-term programs in basic skills, vocational and workforce training that assist youth and adults in attaining education and employment. SVI is located in Seattle’s Central District.

Distance Learning

More than 150 credit and non-credit courses are offered through Distance Learning. The courses, taught by experienced instructors, are flexible, convenient and affordable. An Associate of Arts degree can be earned online.

The Seattle Community Colleges and the Seattle Vocational Institute are public, state-supported institutions, individually accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities*, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.
